Simon Burgin is an interdisciplinary artist and creative technologist whose installations combine projection, generative coding, and spatial audio into responsive environments. Presented at The Lume Melbourne, WNDR Museum Boston, National Museum of Australia, and Museum of Sydney, his work transforms architectural spaces into dynamic, interactive landscapes.
He collaborates with musicians and composers, including Luke Howard at the Melbourne Recital Centre, integrating live algorithmic visuals with contemporary classical music. Festival presentations such as Dark Mofo and Melbourne Music Week position Burgin within experimental, public-facing contexts that explore perception, technology, and movement.
Burgin’s practice uses tools like Unreal Engine, TouchDesigner, and AI-assisted photogrammetry to create installations that respond to audience movement in real time. He also undertakes large-scale commercial commissions for Samsung, BMW, and Nissan, demonstrating an ability to scale interactive experiences without diminishing conceptual intent. Through this work, Burgin situates technology as a medium for immersive, participatory, and spatial storytelling.
